Selfhosting on local network only

Hello. I'm completely new to networking, so this question might make little sense or be very simple.

I'd like to selfhost ente server for my family (we all live in one house). However, we don't have a public IP or a homeserver.

Would it be possible to just install ente server on my Linux laptop, open some ports on it to our family WiFi network and then make phones of my family members connect to it?

Of course, the laptop would not be running 24/7, but every week, there's a few hours at minimum when we're all home and my laptop is running, so my idea is that all the photos would get uploaded and backed up on my hard drive during these time windows. Rest of the time, the phones taking the photos would just wait for the server (my laptop) to come online.

If it's possible, what do I need to set up on our network?
