Flatpak update hangs

Hey, I'm having an issue lately when 
flatpak update
 refuses to work. It downloads a new version for the first pending app and then just hangs without applying the update. Running with --verbose doesn't give any more clues. The solution for this is to restart the system. On a freshly booted OS it works fine. Has anyone seen anything similar?
