"Main Engine Crash" when trying to connect to a friend's hosted world

From what I've found, it's likely caused by MrPlagueRaces jank, but I'd love to know if there's anything I can do about it other than remove the mod, because it's already affected the save I usually play and I don't wanna lose that progress.
