Printer shutdown when homing

I’m having an issue with my Ratrig V-Core 3 (using BTT SKR Pro v1.2 and BTT TMC2209 v1.2 drivers). I configured the printer via the Ratrig Configurator to use sensorless homing. However, whenever I try to home the X or Y axis, the print head only moves a short distance and then I get the following error:
Lost communication with MCU 'mcu'
Once the underlying issue is corrected, use the
"FIRMWARE_RESTART" command to reset the firmware, reload the
config, and restart the host software.
Printer is shutdown
I have already tried disconnecting the motors, but the issue persists. Switching the configuration to use endstops doesn’t change anything either.
Has anyone experienced something similar or has suggestions on how to fix this?
