Should I dye this jacket?

Playing around with a thrifted jacket I might dye black (maybe tie dye?) if I can’t get it working. Like the color (Miami Vice feels, like sunsets and 80s), but unsure how well I can style it. Here’s some of what I tried; love any thoughts (including “dye that trash!”
