Changing Upload Location, but keeping thumbnails/other immich data at default location?
🚧Setup❓Question🗄️Server☑️Ready
Question about how the upload location works. Immich is installed on Debian Docker LXC on Proxmox, on an NVME SSD. The current UPLOAD_LOCATION is still the default ./library. I am using Immich right now to reference my photos/videos via an external library on a TrueNAS SMB share. This is working perfectly so far - I can see all my photos, all features working great, and I can see the contents of the ./library folder as well as expected. The ./library/uploads folder is understandably empty, because I have no "real" uploads yet to my Immich instance.
My Proxmox machine has a secondary hard drive. If I were to change the UPLOAD_LOCATION to this hard drive, would it completely break my Immich? (Reason being, if I decide to start using the mobile upload feature of the Immich app, I want the photos to go to this secondary hard drive, rather than the main SSD where my Proxmox install currently is.) According to https://docs.immich.app/guides/custom-locations/, my understanding is that this is the base folder which includes everything else, including my current thumbnails, encoded videos, etc. Is there a way to make just the folder for uploaded files be on the secondary hard drive, but keep the thumbnails, etc, all in its current location on the NVME SSD? Or would I also need to define all the other paths for thumbs, encoded videos, etc. to strictly remain where they currently are?
