Unicode characters with Keyd
Hey everyone! Week old bazzite and linux newbie here
I'm wanting to remap certain keys I don't use to display unicode characters, and after searching around for a while came upon Keyd.
I got it working in the terms that it prints text when pressing the key (i.e Hello), but when using the unicode characters it doesn't work.
[main]
` = macro(U+301C)
prints nothing but the default character.
I'm starting to think that it won't be possible, having read that wayland doesn't support this kind of remapping and I've not found any other workaround for it, but maybe someone here can help?
Additional info;
I've tested several options, including using alt-code and the symbol I'm trying to print itself and none worked
keyd monitor was used to find the exact key I want to remap, and as said, with simple text it works without issue
Keyd version is v2.6.0
Will be happy to supply any additional info needed, if this is the wrong place to post this please let me know and I'll remove it asap!
Thank you!
