disk partition stuck on creating journals

question

I am really new to linux, and I am trying to set up my SSD, so I can download games from steam. I tried to use GNOME Disk for my partitioning but it always got suck, so I just used the terminal, and now its been on creating journals for like 25+ mins, I checked and ran diskstats and I see disk activity I just wanna know if this is normal or am I doing something wrong.
