Hello! I originally tried to load Chocapic Shaders within the Iris settings in-game, but it went to fallback. Quick Google searching showed me a post from 2021 that said it is incompatible with Iris as of that time, and I am unsure if that is still the case. However, I have selected a new pack explicitly compatible with Fabric - Solas Shaders - and it is presenting with the same issue. I've pushed the folder to my shaderpacks folder within Minecraft's game files, and it is correctly linked in there, only one folder deep. I can select it within Minecraft and it shows up in my list just as Chocapic did, but just as Chocapic had, selecting it changes nothing, and the game shaders default to a fallback state with the default vanilla video settings rather than the shader settings. I am also unable to access shader specific settings - clicking the button does absolutely nothing.
I have no error codes to show. Google couldn't properly solve this issue for me either.
I've recently updated my machine from an old laptop to a much nicer desktop, and I could never get Fabric to install properly on that laptop, so my only experience with shaders has been with Chocapic within Optifine's settings. I don't know if this is truly user error here, as a result.
