Network UPS Tools has systemd dependency in brew; is it safe?

Installing NUT through brew installs systemd as a dependency.
I thought systemd was a core system package—will this cause problems?

➜  brew install -n nut
==> Would install 1 formula:
nut
==> Downloading https://ghcr.io/v2/homebrew/core/nut/manifests/2.8.4-1
==> Would install 3 dependencies for nut:
libcap systemd libusb

➜  brew install -n nut
