Workers on second-level subdomain without Advanced Certificate Manager

WorkersMy current understanding is that Cloudflare's SSL certificate offering doesn't include second+ level subdomains unless we purchase the Advanced Certificate Manager (per https://developers.cloudflare.com/ssl/edge-certificates/universal-ssl/limitations/).
However, I found that I'm able to assign my custom domain with a second-level subdomain in the Domains & Routes settings for my worker, in spite of having not purchased the Advanced Certificate Manager. It shows up as an Advanced type certificate on the Edge Certificates page, and is listed as "Managed". Is this an intentional feature and something I should expect to continue working, or is it an error case that I should avoid relying on?
