ID the cut on this sports coat?

I was watching Columbo and saw this interesting paneling on the back of this sports coat, and was wondering what it could be called. As far as I can tell, there is no center seam on the back panel at all. Google has turned up absolutely nothing so far, and the closest pattern I have found are 'princess panels' for women's bodices
