Would tailor tell me if shoulders/chest are wrong?

Dumb question probably but a tailor would tell me if the shoulders/OTR size is incorrect, right? Went to get a few sports jackets tailored for the first time so was just curious, I assume they’d mention it. He did say not much needed to be done so he’s only doing a bit of sleeve length and waist. Does that mean continue buying same size? Fwiw one of the sales guys said the shoulders looked good
