Confusion around what "count" is doing in the context of coder_script

I took the aws-linux template and added this startup script

resource "coder_script" "every_5_minutes" {
  agent_id     = coder_agent.dev[0].id
  display_name = "Health check"
  icon         = "/icon/heart.svg"
  cron         = "0 */5 * * * *" # Run every 5 minutes
  script       = <<EOF
    #!/bin/sh
    echo "Health check at $(date)"
  EOF
  run_on_start = true
}

resource "coder_script" "every_5_minutes" {
  agent_id     = coder_agent.dev[0].id
  display_name = "Health check"
  icon         = "/icon/heart.svg"

This got me:

Error: Invalid index on main.tf line 136, in resource "coder_script" "every_5_minutes": 136: agent_id = coder_agent.dev[0].id ├──────────────── │ coder_agent.dev is empty tuple The given key does not identify an element in this collection value: the collection has no elements.

So then I added in

count = data.coder_workspace.me.start_count

count = data.coder_workspace.me.start_count

to the script, and that seemed to work. I'm confused as to what count even does though, as it's not in the documentation for

coder_script

anywhere (https://registry.terraform.io/providers/coder/coder/latest/docs/resources/script).

Could I get get some pointers on where to find information on why

data.coder_workspace.me.start_count

data.coder_workspace.me.start_count

is needed and what it actually does in the context of

coder_scripts

coder_scripts

? My understanding is that it's 0 when the EC2 instance is terminating and 1 when it's starting (https://registry.terraform.io/providers/coder/coder/latest/docs/data-sources/workspace#start_count-1).
