Free trial
Hi,
I think there may be an issue with how the free trial billing is configured, and I'm hoping you can help me figure out if I've set something up incorrectly.
My setup:
Product price: $100/month
Free trial: 7 days
What I expect to happen:
User signs up → 7-day free trial → charge of $100 at the end of day 7 (if they don't cancel)
What I think is actually happening:
User signs up → 7-day free trial → no charge on day 7 → charge on day 37 (30 days after trial ends)
This effectively gives users a 37-day free period, which isn't standard practice and creates real problems for my business—customers may not have sufficient funds that far out, and it significantly increases my onboarding costs.
Am I misunderstanding how this works, or is there a setting I need to adjust?
