Help with suit fit please!

Hi all, I was given the opportunity to try on an existing RTW option at a family friend’s tailoring shop and given the option to have it fitted to me for free. I was also offered a more expensive bespoke option but I wanted to see if I could make the RTW option work for me. I haven’t bought suit in a very long time and I have only recently really gotten into some of the more nitty gritty of it so anything I buy I want to make sure I am doing it right.
It obviously doesn’t fit properly but as an intellectual exercise — is this a useable template for further modifications? What are tailoring details I should watch out for?
I have pics attached and then in the thread go over what I know/think I know and then what I want to know. But feel free to add anything else that you may notice as well, it will all be very helpful!

LOCATION: Guangzhou, China (but I usually live in NYC, USA — just here visiting family)
