PC Building Simulator 2 crashes shortly after launch

When launching PCBS2 with both the latest GE-proton and cachyOS Proton, the game will launch to the main menu fine, but when starting a game (on any mode), it will load into the game but have massive stuttering and eventually crash after a few seconds.
I am on CachyOS with the COSMIC DE (wayland).
