File Explorer unresponsive

File Explorer (the one that comes default with bazzite, has become unresponsive since latest kernel update (43.20260101)
Expected behavior: File Explorer to open directories, allow usage of deletion, copy, move etc
Actual result: File explorer freezes up, none of the queued actions are being performed, could not copy, move or delete files
Force stopping file explorer in Mission control and restarting fixes it for a bit, issues return after around 30seconds of using file explorer again
Note mission control indicates no memory leakage of file explorer, but it also indicates that there is no cpu activity when it freezes either

AMD Ryzen 7 5700x
Nvidia RTX 4070 SUPER
no modifcations or additional file explorer systems have been made to my machine
