moving pages deployment to other account -> redirect to 'Connect to Git'

I was showing a friend how to deploy with cloudflare pages using my cloudflare account.
Today I deleted the deployment and logged into his cloudflare account. To then deploy it again there.
I'm facing the redirect to 'Connect to Git' issue. cant get past this page no matter what I try.
I also uninstalled the Workers and Pages 'App' on github.
That resulted in different (better) dialogue where I have to select the repo to connect.
But afterwards I'm facing the 'Connect to Git' page again.
Assumption:
because the same reppo was connected to another account earlier, some things in the background are still left and maybe causing problems.
Solution:
I don't think there is anything I can do.
This might require some surgical intervention from the cloudflare team.
