Best tips for cutting down usage
Got this response from my bot
Gateway restarted but context stayed at 141k - the session history persisted through the restart. The SIGUSR1 signal reloads config but doesn't clear the conversation.
The real issue: Those workspace files (SOUL.md, USER.md, etc.) get loaded into EVERY message. Even though we deleted BOOTSTRAP.md, we're still loading ~6KB of context files per response.
Better solutions:
1. Trim the workspace files to essentials (cut them down to < 1KB total)
2. Use compaction (when we hit 200k, Clawdbot auto-compresses)
3. Accept 4% per message for now and let it ride
At current rate, you have ~7-8 more messages before hitting the 200k limit, then it'll auto-compress.
