Issues with whatsapp voice messages
Had some trouble where it responds fine to a voice message, then stops. claude code said this:
1. First time it worked - After I restarted the gateway completely at 02:11, the config was loaded fresh and transcription worked.
2. It broke again - When I edited the config to clean up (removed the debug wrapper path and logging settings), the
gateway detected the changes and hot-reloaded:
config change detected; evaluating reload (tools.media.audio.models)
config change applied (dynamic reads: tools.media.audio.models)
3. But hot-reload doesn't fully work - The media understanding pipeline appears to cache something internally that
doesn't get refreshed on hot-reload. The config shows as "applied" but the actual transcription code path doesn't pick
up the new settings.
Workaround: After any changes to tools.media.audio config, you need to restart the gateway:
pkill -f clawdbot-gateway && clawdbot gateway &
This seems like a bug worth reporting to the clawdbot project - the tools.media config should either fully hot-reload or
require an explicit restart.
