ai gateway streaming issues

Ok, I asked here but no reply - so asking here...
Does streaming work with AI Gateway? I implemented https://developers.cloudflare.com/changelog/2025-12-22-agents-sdk-ai-sdk-v6/ and streaming didn't work.
So I refactored and spent days trying to figure it out - decided to strip ai gateway out - and streaming worked
So I added Cloudflare AI Gateway back in - and streaming instantly stopped. I was really really hoping to use it - but sadly, not matter what I try - I can't get streaming to work via Cloudflare's AI Gateway.
Does anyone know if this works? if not, does anyone know if OpenRouter or something else out there is better? I have 3 requirements:
1. Unified API contract: one request/response shape across providers
2. I can tag meta data to the messaging flowing through
3. It streams data in and out perfectly
4. Can add guardrails to the messages (PII Redaction etc.)
