Black Suit for Weddings

Hey all. So I got a few weddings to attend this year but the first two coming up are the most formal according to dress code on the invites. One is Formal and the other is Black Tie Optional. For the Formal wedding, I was just recently informed that I’d be taking a Groomsman position and the groom would like me to have a black suit. And then I figure that will also work for upcoming Black Tie Optional wedding. The only suit I currently own is a mid blue suit that I wore for my own wedding (and doesn’t really fit me well anymore oopsy). My question is more looking for engagement or discouragement. Should I buy a black suit and be done with it? Maybe possibly use it for future events? Or should I just rent for the both of them? I’ve used suit supply for my first suit and I would maybe use them again although the fit was a bit funky and I’m looking for a bit more relaxed, higher waist, wider lapel, looks than most modern slim fit suit trends. I’m in Chicago if that helps. Thanks!
