DualShock 4 controller not working via Bluetooth

My DualShock 4 controller isn't working via Bluetooth on my desktop (KDE, Nvidia graphics, not Steam Gaming Mode). I know the controller works fine because it is 100% useable on my laptop with Bazzite. Bluetooth indicates that is connected, but neither Steam nor the system (game controller in settings) itself detect it as a controller unless plugged in which is annoying
