Brew VSCodium font issue

I have installed vscodium for brew from here https://github.com/ublue-os/homebrew-tap
The ui fonts don't seem to be loading correctly (see all of the weird monospace fonts everywhere) and I'm not sure how to fix it.
If I install vscodium in a distrobox everything sems to be fine, but here's it's messed up.
Is there anything I should check that could be messing with the fonts?
