Issue updating/repairing/installing

I just got my laptop and I wanted to play Valorant for the first time and I installed it from the website and it installed riot launcher and valorant but whenever I try play valorant it takes me back to the riot launcher and tells me I need to "Update" it and when I do it prepares to update and then it just asks me to "Update" it again. Sometimes it says "Repair" also so idk what to do.
