Fit/sanity check on new denim?

First time buying raw denim in many years. I've been buying from unspun for years so I'm getting back to speed on OTR clothing. I have a ~36 waist, need a roomy top block (at least 13.5 thighs) and also like a decent taper (even if the super skinny days are happily in the past). I bought some Samurai's over the weekend and thought I'd found my dream fit. They fit perfectly in the waist, with that slightly snug fit that will stretch out a bit after wearing. Enough space in the thighs, with a nice taper. But now I'm going a little crazy. Do they look weird in the front? Too much fabric/diaper effect? Why does it fold like that, and how come the internal fabric on the left pocket is always visible and will push out after I take a few steps (like I keep sticking my hand in to push it back in, it's so annoying)? IDK, am I just crashing out or is something off. Thanks!
