Face detection not detecting faces

Just got my new build server up and running, and imported my excisting album as an external library. After having it run for a few ours all pictures show. generating the thumbnails went very well on CPU.
Only problem i have is that there are no faces detected. I also see no activity on the gpu, just a little cpu activity. and the facial detection cue just slowly decreasing but without any faces going to the facial recognision cue.
I have immich running as a app in Truenas 25.10.1.
Server hardware:
Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU
AMD Ryzen 5950X CPU
64 GB DDR4 ram
PG_date is hosted on a single SSD
Data (upload location) is hosted on a RAIDZ1 group of HDD's.
I installed the Nvidia drivers, and selected the cuda immage on app install.
I tested Immich a few months ago on a testing setup (2012 macmini with truenas installed on bare metal) and that ran great with facial detection and recognision working fine on a smaller test album.
What could i be doing wrong or forgetting here?
