sideloaded (offline) games take time to launch on slow internet

at times my internet gets extremely slow (doesnt disconnect) so i decide to play an offline game instead but it doesnt launch until i either turn off my wifi or my internet becomes stable again
i can launch the game directly using wine just fine when that happens
