I am trying to get Bazzite to use my dGPU (Nvidia RTX 5070) on a Framework 16 with an AMD Ryzen 7940, but I cannot even get the computer to recognize the dGPU as being connected at all? I initially installed Bazzite with no dGPU but I have followed multiple sets of install and update instructions to no avail, including:
- Stock Framework Bazzite install for 7040 series (Framework>AMD GPU>KDE>No Gaming Mode Bazzite iso saved to boot drive via Rufus) + No Secure Boot + Bios update (Framework instructions) -> Only iGPU recognized, Nvidia-smi not recognized by terminal
- Stock Framework Bazzite install for 7040 series + Secure Boot + Bios update (Framework instructions) -> see above
- Adjusted Bazzite install (Framework>Nvidia RTX Series GPU>KDE>No Gaming Mode installed via rebase, no boot drive) + Secure Boot + Bios update -> Only iGPU recognized, terminal says "Nvidia-smi has failed because it couldn't communicate with the Nvidia driver. Make sure that the latest Nvidia driver is installed and running."
- Adjusted Bazzite install (see above) + No Secure Boot + Bios update -> Nvidia-smi has failed...
- Adjusted Bazzite install (see above) + No Secure Boot + Bios update + "ujust enable superfxctl" Nvidia-smi has failed...
- Adjusted Bazzite install (see above) + No Secure Boot + Bios update after "rpm-ostree reset" Current state of laptop, see post image
If my language doesn't already make it clear, I barely know anything about Linux and have only been using it for ~2 weeks. I have tried googling every variation of the above but have found nothing useful. I already posted to the framework subreddit earlier but beyond that I have zero idea how to proceed. Please let me know if there are any other details I can provide.
