Game update stuck on MacOS

Hello, I am trying to update Baldur's Gate 3, and the update process is stuck at 0%. I had issues with updates previously, but after a couple of retries it usually went through. This time it's stuck permanently. The game is from GOG and the files reside on an external SSD. I found a report on github, that seemed relevant, but this does not seem to work for me (https://github.com/Heroic-Games-Launcher/HeroicGamesLauncher/issues/5115#issuecomment-3692820445). The update process is still stuck, and there are multiple gogdl processes in the activity monitor.
