battery NaN% in gamemode when it was previously fine

running bazzite deck on my lenovo 5800u laptop and battery percentage was reporting perfectly just yesterday. afaik I have done nothing significant in between. KDE reports battery correctly and is specific to gamemode.
from this thread gamemode reads the first battery reported by the system so I dumped all the connected batteries with

Solution
EDIT: NOT SOLVED see battery NaN% in gamemode when it was previously fine
update: I think I finally got it solved. fully charge the battery to 100% (I checked with a meter until it stopped receiving power, sometimes the green full charge battery icon does NOT show up so it is misleading) then rebooted. Pulled the plug out when it is fully loaded in and battery percentage is being reported properly
