Quick Linux audio question. I’m moving my main PC over to Linux Mint Cinnamon full-time and just want to sanity-check one thing before I commit.
This machine is mostly for Steam games (nothing competitive), Plex/media stuff, SSH into other Linux boxes, general browsing/life admin, and the odd bit of OBS recording - not serious streaming.
I use a GoXLR Mini, but not in the “streamer control centre” way. No soundboard, effects, or fancy routing. I just run an XLR mic into it and my headphones into the 3.5mm jack, so it’s basically just acting as a simple USB audio interface and headphone amp.
I saw someone reacting to Linux daily-driver setups and they immediately said “don’t” as soon as GoXLR came up, but it sounded like that was about advanced features and software control.
If I’m only using it for basic mic and headphone I/O, is this thing likely to be a real problem on Mint/Linux, or is most of the pain around the extra mixing/control features? Not looking to replace gear, just want to know what I’m walking into.
