Not long ago, most of us could get by with a single setup, usually VS Code for coding, terminal, Git, and everything else. Lately, though, it feels like there’s a new tool for every tiny workflow.
With AI in the mix, my stack has exploded: I’m juggling multiple projects at once, switching between IDEs, using a separate terminal app, and rotating through 3–4 different agent/model apps (e.g., Codex and others) depending on what I’m trying to get done.
How are you all managing this tool sprawl? Do you have a system that keeps things sane, or am I alone in this chaos? I’m asking because I’m exploring an idea to make this easier, and I’d love to hear what’s working (or not) for you.
