Extreme lag on laptop

I've been playing Val on my laptop for a year and a half now and it's never been this laggy. I was in a comp game and during round 2 I crashed. I log back on and my ping is normal (25-35 usually). And then after a couple rounds it goes up to 100-200. And then it even got to 4000+ at some point. Are there any settings I should change on my laptop or just something to make it less laggy?
(The only things I have installed are valorant, Roblox, and Osu because if I have other big games on my laptop, val crashes almost every time. Had genshin and that ran good it's just val that crashes if anything else is installed)
