npm install failed. UNABLE_TO_GET_ISSUER_CERT_LOCALLY

Trying to install fresh on a fresh new opencore patched Sequoia 15.7.3 installation. 2015 MBP with quad-core i7 and 16GB ram.

Tried a bunch of ways from other help threads but trying to install mnpn fails.

Perfect — that explains the whole thing.

- Your default Node TLS trust is broken (

- but Node works when forced to use the bundled CA store (

--use-bundled-ca

So the fix is: run npm/corepack with bundled CAs, or repair whatever CA store your Homebrew Node is defaulting to.

Try installing pnpm like this:

sudo env NODE_OPTIONS=--use-bundled-ca npm install -g pnpm
# or if you prefer corepack:
sudo env NODE_OPTIONS=--use-bundled-ca corepack install -g pnpm
