Is Immich usable as full backup solution for iOS?

from what i have read and seen so far Immich looks awesome!
But before i go all in and using it as my main picture/video backup tool (including buying needed HW, NAS and also 3-2-1 backup solution…) i wondered if it is even meant to do 100% backup of original data on iPhone / Mac?
Main use case, i want to free up space on my iPhone (currently 150 GB) and make it remote accessible via VPN. Currently i only backup via Mac Photos app to external drive but have no remote access.. but I can go back to the original unedited files like on the iPhone. (Don’t want to loose any data)
As a first test i installed Immich on my small home server, ThinkCentre Ryzen 5 PRO, RAM 16 GB, on Proxmox > Ubuntu VM > Docker Compose.
And uploaded some data as a test to which i have som detailed questions how and what is stored, how to check if the data is really on the server and if there are special cases where i might loose data?
If there are any links / doku to this topic please point me to it, i have read 1-2 times over the website but have not found this detailed info. If also others think this is useful info i would also like to help to write it together for the FAQ..
My main concerns are basically any combination of modified pictures/videos, before or after sync to the server and if all data is correctly backed up, also all the originals:
- Live pics (short video included)
- Live pics with video effects like loop
- Live pics selected from a different time point a main pic
- Effects like auto enhanced color’s and exposure (i used this a lot for my favorite pics)
- Scribbled something on pics
- Cut Video (keeping the original)
- Edited meta data like date
- and basically any combination of the above with a sync before and after such changes or even un doing a change..
