public shared link authentication error

I am trying to share a link with friends and family for uploading photos of some event i had.
I can create a shared album link that works fine without a password. But to make a bit more secure, i want to add a password. As soon as i create a link with a password, i get an error that im not authenticated, but i have no option to enter a password.
My instance does use SSO/OpenID (Authentik) with the normal Immich login screen enabled.
I think the issue is within my reverse proxy, but im not sure. So i create this post to see if someone had the same experience or knows a solution to my case.
