Firefox speech synthesis *still* not working

So there is an old question here about Firefox speech dispatcher not being accessible in the Flatpak version (🛟bazzite-helpFirefox speech synthesis not working - does not have access to Speech Dispatcher library). Is Distrobox (which I haven't really gotten into yet) still the only way to make this work more than 2 years later?
I'd much prefer not to install a second version of Firefox, and set it up/customize it all over again - and than have it not supported by the community down the road bcs it's not the default...
Indeed, that issue (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1638150) has been marked as fixed a couple months later - but I'm still seeing it on the latest version.
