Slack Channel Configuration
I’m trying to hook my self-hosted OpenClaw gateway up to Slack and can’t get the bot to respond in a channel.
- Workspace: small test workspace
- App: custom app “BobTheLobster”
- Mode: Socket Mode
- OpenClaw: running with this Slack config (tokens redacted):
What’s working:
- App is installed to the workspace.
- Bot user appears in
- I can mention
What’s not working:
- The bot never responds in
- DMing the app shows: “Sending messages to this app has been turned off.”
Questions:
1. With the config above, should OpenClaw be able to receive events from
2. Are there any required bot scopes or Socket Mode settings people often miss for the OpenClaw Slack channel?
3. Is there anything obviously wrong or missing in this Slack config block?
Any pointers or working examples of a Slack section from a config.json(5) would be super helpful.
