Installing 2026.2.25 in Docker Container

I'm installing OpenClaw up on Raspberry Pi 5 running Raspberry Pi OS Lite (64-bit). I'll access via Tailscale, with SSH into the IP address and Tailscale Serve for the control panel. OpenClaw will be in a docker image that I've created on my M1 MacBook.
Please evaluate this plan.
docker save openclaw:pi | gzip > openclaw-pi.tar.gz
Transfer to the Pi (Tailscale makes this direct):
scp openclaw-pi.tar.gz user@<tailscale-ip>:~/
On the Pi:
docker load < ~/openclaw-pi.tar.gz
Verify:
docker images | grep openclaw
Create Persistent Storage and Run the Container
mkdir -p ~/.openclaw
mkdir -p ~/openclaw/workspace
Docker Compose
Create ~/openclaw/docker-compose.yml:

image: openclaw:pi
container_name: openclaw
restart: unless-stopped
network_mode: host
volumes:
- ~/.openclaw:/home/node/.openclaw
- ~/openclaw/workspace:/home/node/workspace

- OPENCLAW_DATA_DIR=/home/node/.openclaw
Start it:
cd ~/openclaw
docker compose up -d
Check it's running:
docker compose logs -f
Run OpenClaw Onboarding
Attach to the container and run the onboarding wizard:
docker exec -it openclaw openclaw onboard
Access the Control Panel via Tailscale
The OpenClaw gateway runs on port 18789. Since you're using network_mode: host, it's available on the Pi's Tailscale IP.
Tailscale Serve (HTTPS)
On the Pi:
sudo tailscale serve --bg 18789
Then access:
https://yourpi.tailxxx.net/
Configure this in OpenClaw:
docker exec openclaw openclaw config set gateway.auth.allowTailscale true
docker exec openclaw openclaw config set gateway.trustedProxies '["127.0.0.1"]'
Device Pairing
When you first connect from a new browser, OpenClaw requires a one-time device approval:
docker exec openclaw openclaw devices list
docker exec openclaw openclaw devices approve <DEVICE_ID>
