just downloaded valorant, game freezes for 5-10 seconds after every 10-15 seconds

i've just downloaded valorant and after just a few seconds, the game starts frame lagging to the point where it freezes for a solid 5-10 seconds, it does that every 10-20 seconds, the audio loops as well and it affects the whole pc even after closing valorant and the riot client, when checking for logs and events, the cpu spikes to 100% of the usage then goes back to normal, i tried disabling hardware accelleration, i updated the drivers and nothing else comes to mind, any fix?
