I'm new to Immich and have added an external (read-only) library containing over 100,000 assets. I’ve also recently uploaded several hundred new photos that I want to organize, deduplicate, and add to albums, etc.
However, my external library contains a large number of duplicates (around 20,000) that I do not want to process right now. This makes it very difficult to focus on managing just my recent uploads.
Since it took days to catalog the external library and I couldn’t find a way to temporarily disable it (the mount point can't be disabled, as it's a shared top-level path), I’m not sure how to restrict deduplication or management actions to only the newly uploaded files.
Is there a way to:
Filter or isolate only recently uploaded photos (excluding the external library)?
Deduplicate or organize only these new assets?
Temporarily disable or hide the external library without affecting the catalog?
Any guidance or best practices would be greatly appreciated!
