Tools not working on Discord — work fine in webchat/terminal
Hey, just set up OpenClaw and got Discord connected. The bot responds on Discord but can't use tools — no web browsing, no writing to files (USER.md, MEMORY.md
etc).
In the terminal webchat, everything works perfectly — browser, file read/write, all tools.
Setup:
- OpenClaw 2026.3.2
- macOS (Apple Silicon)
- Model: Claude Opus
- Playwright installed
What works on webchat but not Discord:
- Browser/web search
- Writing to memory files
- File operations in general Any ideas what's different about the Discord channel that would block tools?
