Discord Voice Chat not working
Hey guys — looking for help with Discord voice on OpenClaw.
I’m on OpenClaw 2026.3.7 running in an Ubuntu VM on Unraid.
Text/Discord messaging works fine, but Discord voice is not working correctly. I was following the previous thread about this, but I saw it got closed as “not a bug”, so I’m trying to figure out whether I’m missing a config step or if there’s something specific about my setup.
What I’m trying to do:
join a Discord server voice channel with the bot
command used: /vc join
What happens:
the bot appears to start joining
after about 15–16 seconds, it fails with:
Failed to join voice channel: The operation was aborted
What I tested:
OpenClaw updated from 2026.3.2 → 2026.3.7
tested with Discord voice DAVE encryption ON
tested again with Discord voice DAVE encryption OFF
same failure both ways
Relevant gateway log signal:
around the failed /vc join, I consistently see:
[EventQueue] Slow listener detected: InteractionEventListener took ~15673ms for event INTERACTION_CREATE
I do not see a useful voice-specific error, decrypt error, or opus error in the logs for the failed join
Environment:
OpenClaw: 2026.3.7
Host: Ubuntu VM on Unraid
Install: user-local install, systemd user service
Discord text features work normally
Questions:
Is Discord voice currently expected to work in this kind of setup?
Does “The operation was aborted” usually point to a missing dependency / adapter issue / VM issue?
Is there any extra logging/debug flag I should enable for Discord voice join specifically?
Is there anything about Unraid VM + Ubuntu that is known to break /vc join?
If someone can tell me what a known-good Discord voice setup should look like, I can compare mine and test quickly.
