Steam Controller 1 Issues

Hey, so I'm having some weird issues with the OG steam controller. It tends to work for a bit, but then I can't open the steam menu, it eventually stops working altogether and even my system starts acting odd and freezing and requires a restart. Not sure why? Thanks
