Back paddle input not being detected over Bluetooth for Xbox Elite controller 2

So my laptop pairs and detects the controller just fine, but won't read any inputs from the back paddles. Like it realizes that they're there, it just won't read any button presses. I checked evtest tho, and it is detecting the presses, it's just bazzite it's self doesn't seem to recognize the input.
