Difference between BlendOS and ArchLinux installation on macbook pro intel without T2 chip
⁉️question
Hi there, First, thanks for all the work on BlendOS, I'm coming from a regular GNU/Linux Debian and I'm really impress. I just install BlendOS on a macbook pro with a intel proc without a T2 chip for day to day use and it works great. Before configure this OS completly, I check the partition scheme recommended for ArchLinux and this scheme is :
partition mountpoint size type label/dev/sda1 /efi 200MiB vfat EFI/dev/sda2 - ? hfs+ macOS/dev/sda3 - ? hfs+ Recovery/dev/sda4 - 100MiB hfs+ Boot Arch Linux from the Apple boot loader (optional)/dev/sda5 /boot 100MiB boot boot/dev/sda6 - ? swap swap (optional)/dev/sda7 / 15-20GiB ext4 root/dev/sda8 /home remaining ext4 home
partition mountpoint size type label/dev/sda1 /efi 200MiB vfat EFI/dev/sda2 - ? hfs+ macOS/dev/sda3 - ? hfs+ Recovery/dev/sda4 - 100MiB hfs+ Boot Arch Linux from the Apple boot loader (optional)/dev/sda5 /boot 100MiB boot boot/dev/sda6 - ? swap swap (optional)/dev/sda7 / 15-20GiB ext4 root/dev/sda8 /home remaining ext4 home
On the installation process for BlendOS, first probem : it was not possible to partitionning manually because once I create the partitions I needed on gparted, and configure it, the "next" button stay grey and I can't click and move to the next step.
So, I stay with the automatic patitionning choice and this scheme is very different, more simple, of the ArchLinux scheme whereas BlendOS is based on it.
So, as BlendOS is immuable and atomic, I want to keep this installation very stable. On a macbook pro, do I have to reinstall it and set the partition sheme like ArchLinux recommandations or the default BlendOS sheme is suffisant to keep stability over the year ? If it's better to adapt the partition scheme for a macbook pro, what is the best choice ? Best regards, aïo
