Run DCS and opentrack in the same prefix?

I can get DCS to run best via heroic using GE-Proton 10-17, however I cannot for the life of me get opentrack to work with DCS in this config (linux native build or running the Windows app). I can also get DCS to run via Lutris (with some issues) and to get opentrack to work there was dead simple, just set the windows app the share the same prefix folder. Worked perfectly. Doesn't seem like Heroic supports this, as whichever app starts first in the prefix blocks any other one from starting until it terminates.
