can't install betterdiscord on discord canary

I installed the flatpak of discord canary. The appimage won't let me install because if I browse to it, the program is grayed out and not selectable. If I use betterdiscordctl -f canary install, it says ERROR: Discord canary config directory not found:
The most frustrating part is that i had it installed yesterday somehow but I don't know what I did differently and since discord updated, betterdiscord is gone. I installed it for the autoscroll mod.

Solution
yea, it constantly uninstalls itself when discord updates. Just use Vesktop, it has all BetterDiscord features and works 1000000x better
